Here are the 10 major announcements from PM Modi’s address:
1. Mission Sudarshan Chakra – Indigenous Air Defence Shield
Inspired by Lord Krishna’s divine weapon, Mission Sudarshan Chakra aims to develop an Indian-made air defence system akin to Israel’s Iron Dome. By 2035, the project will establish a fully domestic security shield to protect critical infrastructure and civilian areas from aerial threats.
2. First Made-in-India Semiconductor Chips
PM Modi confirmed that India’s first domestically manufactured semiconductor chips will be launched by the end of 2025—a long-awaited breakthrough for electronics, automotive, and defence industries.
3. High-Power Demography Mission
To address demographic changes in sensitive border regions, the government will launch a mission to safeguard livelihoods, protect women, and prevent land encroachment by infiltrators.
4. ₹1 Lakh Crore PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
Aimed at creating 3.5 crore jobs, this scheme offers ₹15,000 support to first-time private sector employees and financial incentives to employers hiring them.
5. GST Reforms as a ‘Double Diwali Gift’
Next-generation GST reforms will slash taxes on essential goods, reducing the financial burden on citizens and simplifying compliance.
6. ‘Samudra Manthan’ – National Deep Water Exploration Mission
This mission will explore oil, gas, and mineral resources in the ocean, boosting energy self-reliance and advancing underwater engineering and research.
7. Defence Self-Reliance – Indigenous Jet Engine Development
The PM called upon Indian scientists and engineers to create a fully indigenous fighter jet engine, a milestone towards complete defence independence.
8. Space Ambitions – Indian Space Station & Gaganyaan
India will establish its own space station, alongside the much-awaited Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. Over 300 space startups have already emerged under recent reforms.
9. Nuclear Energy Expansion
India will increase nuclear power capacity tenfold by 2047, with 10 new reactors under development, complemented by growth in solar, hydrogen, and hydropower.
10. Reform Task Force for a $10 Trillion Economy
A high-level task force will modernise laws, governance, and policies to cut compliance costs, foster innovation, and prepare India for a $10 trillion GDP.
